James L. Green was born in Rutherford Co., NC 1776. James died about 1844.
He married Sarah Moss 1 Sep 1808. Sally was born in Cowpens, SC about 1790. She died after 1860, possibly in 1867. Sally's father may have been Gilbert Moss (1762-1844) who lived in York, SC. He had a daughter who married an unknown Green and sons named Wylie, Ephraim and Howell. Wylie had a son named Martin. These are names which show up in Sallie and James Green's family.
Sally married first to Caleb Ellis and they had one son, Caleb, Jr. Caleb was born in NC 1763. He was the son of John Ellis and Mary Quinn. Caleb died 5 Dec 1805. Caleb's sister was married to James' brother.
