Hans Zimmerman was born in Wattenwil, Canton Bern, Switzerland about 1702. Hans died 10 June 1794 in Lincoln Co., NC, at 91 years of age. In America he was also known as John Carpenter.
He married Sarah Salome unknown.
Hans Zimmerman and Sarah Salome unknown had the following child:
i. Jacob Carpenter was born 1734. Not proven as a son, however he did name a daughter Sarah Salome.
ii. Johannes Zimmerman was born before 1755. The only proven son of Hans Zimmerman
Other possible brothers or half brothers include Christian "CZ" Zimmerman (buried on Jacob's farm) and Peter Zimmerman (whom oral tradition says is Jacob's half brother.
