Catherine McClurg

Peter Eaker was born in NC about 1790.  Peter died 1869 in Lincoln Co., NC, at 79 years of age.  
He married Catherine McClurg in Lincoln Co., NC, 16 Apr 1816.  Catherine was born in Lincoln, Co., NC 1791.    Catherine died about 1874 at the age of  83.
 Newlyweds when Peter's father moved to Missouri, Peter and Catherine moved to Rutherford County (the portion which is now Cleveland County).  Their land was between Polkville and Casar, about a mile northeast of Clover Hill Methodist Church.  In fact, the first temporary church was built on Peter's land.  Their neighbors included the Wells, the Ledfords, the Ramseys, the Whites, the Hoyles, the Newtons and the Peelers.
Peter Eaker and Catherine McClurg had the following children:
i. Sarah Eaker was born 1819.  She married  Reuben Martin 15 December 1853.
ii. Jesse Eaker was born 28 July 1820.  Jesse died 8 November 1902 at 82 years of age.  He married  Sarah Morrison about 1848. Sarah was born 21 Dec 1829.  She died 2 Feb 1898 at 68 years of age.
iii. Ellender Nell Eaker was born 1823.  Ellen married  Joseph Crowder. Joseph died in the Civil War.
iv.   Joseph C. Eaker was born 18 January 1826.
v.   Margaret Eaker was born 9 October 1829.  Margaret died 11 August 1910 at 80 years of age.  She married  James W. Dean 6 January 1853.  James was born about 1810.  He was a Methodist minister who was born and raised in Greensboro, NC.
