Jacob F. Eaker was born in Cleveland Co., NC 12 February 1855. Jake Eaker died 24 February 1944 in Cleveland Co., NC, at 89 years of age.
He married Alice E. Hull 5 April 1877. Alice was born in Cleveland Co., NC 16 November 1859. Alice died 28 May 1924 at 64 years of age.
Jake and Alice lived at the crossroads community of Delight, between Polkville and Casar in northern Cleveland County, NC. They had a very large three story house, said by some to be so big it "covered eight acres/Eakers". Jake was a farmer and businessman. He put in the first telephones in upper Cleveland County and operated the phone company and switchboard out of his house.
Jacob F. Eaker and Alice E. Hull had the following children:
i. Edgar Marvin Eaker was born 1880. Marvin died 1945 at 65 years of age. He married twice. He married Elizabeth Lois Edwards 1905. Elizabeth was born 7 June 1884. Elizabeth died 1937 at 53 years of age. He married Lizzie Mae Lee 1938.

Ethel died 23 April 1962 in Cleveland Co., NC, at 76 years of age. Her body was interred in Shelby, NC, Sunset Cemetery. She married Cleveland McClurd Peeler 1912. Doc was born in NC 22 June 1885. Doc died 19 November 1958 in Cleveland Co., NC, at 73 years of age.
